Hi, I’m Eli Marti from Westfield Indiana, and this is my dance solo Goo Goo Muck, to the song Goo Goo Muck by the Cramps. Movement is my weakest performance area, so I chose it in order to improve and expand my skill set. This dance was heavily inspired by the new Wednesday Addams show, and I made my costume based off of her dress from her famous dance scene. Overall, this dance was fun to do, and I feel I achieved my goal of improving my movement skills, but my favorite part has to be making the costume and designing my makeup!

JCS-Meridian Proudly presents its 2023 production: Rollin' Old School: The Argyle Race! Taking its idea from a famous bike race that originated in England, this year's show explores the nostalgia of this race as we recreate an old fashion bike race that would have taken place 100 years ago on the winter guard floor. Patterns of argyle, on the uniforms, prop pieces and within the patterns of the flags showcase this old look. Our floor design will be transformed into old cobblestone streets and old fashion banners similar to this period. We will be spinning and dancing and maybe even a little bike riding during the show. JCS- Meridian is thrilled to be a part of WGI’s virtual and in person season again this year. Meridian consists currently of members between 6th and 11th grades. Meridian was awarded as silver Medalists in 2022 season at the Tristate Marching Arts Circuit Championships as well as 2nd Place at the WGI Virtual Finals in 2022, both in Independent Regional A. This year, Meridian Winter guard had the opportunity to appear at its first WGI in person Regional competing at the Knoxville regional, making finals and being awarded class champion at this regional in Independent Regional A. JCS- Meridian is under the direction of Adam Miller and Angela Miller.

McKinney High School from McKinney, TX The McKinney High School Color Guard is proud to present their 2023 program entitled “The Things They Carried” which seeks to honor the service and sacrifice of all United States Veterans. “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien tells the powerful story of the physical and emotional burdens carried by the soldiers of the Vietnam War. Items such as pocket knives, wrist watches, dog tags, and mosquito repellent filled the soldier’s pockets while fatigues, jungle boots, and helmets shielded them from the many battles they faced. As an homage to the lives they left back home, these men also carried letters from loved ones, photographs, and good luck charms. Often, soldiers carried each other through acts of heroism and brotherhood. We invite audience members to experience a moving adaptation of the acclaimed novel through an exploration of the physical, historical, and intangible tribulations of the soldiers who served the United States in Vietnam. McKinney High School will compete at the WGI Mansfield Regional, the WGI Dallas Regional, and the 2023 WGI World Championships in the Scholastic Open Division. Staff Includes: Chris Cook, Erin Parke, Dylan Hightower, Robert Sherretz, and Bobby Glass Audio Engineering: Pyro Lugo-Allen Graphic Design: Sara Solomonson

Welcome to the Couch to Corps Workout Series on FloMarching! Congratulations on taking a big step towards marching your drum corps season. Drum corps is one of the most physically demanding activities a performer can pursue. This requires purposeful preparation to make sure you are healthy, fit, and at your best this summer. The Couch to Corps Workout is designed to prepare you to go from being a couch potato to looking like a drum corps veteran. Know that you may be sore after working out, and that's okay! The best uses of this workout are to prepare you for getting a contract at your next drum corps camp. We do not recommend, though, that you use this as a last-ditch effort to get in shape before spring training. This is a body-weight program and requires no equipment. We encourage you to begin some form of resistance training after completing this program and before spring training begins. The corps we work with begin this program in January, then transition to our "Ultimate Drum Corps Workout" for the remaining months before move-ins. The Couch to Corps Workout is designed to be completed three days a week with one or two days of rest between each workout. The workouts are considered "total body," meaning you will work most major muscle groups required for marching each time you work out. If there are muscle groups you feel you need to target more of (biceps, for example) by all means, add your favorite exercises to these workouts. Thank you for investing in yourself by doing these workouts. Health and fitness are a journey. Be patient with yourself, bring a friend to work out with you, and have fun!
