My name is Remy Thomas and I will be representing the Santa Clara Vanguard with my original composition for tenor drums, "Unraveled". Ideally, I would have been playing on Dynasty drums, but given the circumstances of the world around us I had to make do with materials present. The solo begins with a pronounced pattern in 7. Becoming a recurring motif, it will be present throughout the entire work. You will hear variations on this theme build on itself, winding up, until the climax when the piece slowly unravels into nothingness. The title is a play on the visual and rhythmic occurrences in the piece; for every note is meticulously placed to show progression of the motif.
