After a lengthy rain delay during prelims, the Bands of America Austin Regional got finals started at 9:00 PM and threw one good band after another at the audience. When the dust settled, the Vandegrift H.S. marching band broke the 80 plateau with a 80.05 and captured the championship. Vandegrift won the AAAA division in prelims and outstanding visual performance award. The other prelim awards went to Vista Ridge (Music) and Claudia Taylor Johnson (GE). However during finals, Vandegrift swept all the awards and won the night. 

In second was AAA division champion and defending 2015 overall champion Leander H.S. with a score of 79.05. During prelims, Leander endured a long rain delay then managed to sweep the caption awards. Claudia Taylor Johnson finished 3rd during finals with a 77.85 and defending Texas State Champions Cedar Park finished 4th overall with a 77.25. Leander, CTJ, and Cedar Park will all be making the trip to Grand Nationals this year.
