The first meeting of the Bluecoats, Blue Devils, Boston Crusaders, and Carolina Crown didn't disappoint, as fans at DCI Broken Arrow were treated to an absolutely electric show. There's a lot to go over, so let's jump right into it.

1. Overall Scores

In case you somehow managed to miss it, here are the overall scores from DCI Broken Arrow:

So there you have it, folks. Bluecoats came out on top by almost a full point over the second-place tie between the Blue Devils and Boston. Fans were frenzied when Bluecoats became the overall winner of Broken Arrow, officially snapping the multi-year win streak that the Blue Devils were on. In case you were counting, it had been 1,804 days since the Blue Devils lost... unreal.

Outside of first and second place, the rest of the corps from the evening had a padding of about two points between each of them, a margin that is likely to decrease as shows get cleaner and show elements are finalized.

But the thing we really need to talk about?

2. Caption Race Update

As we saw the last time Bluecoats, Boston, and Crown went head-to-head at Summer Music Games in Cincinnati, the Caption Race is all over the place, keeping both the corps and fans on their toes. Let's check out the breakdown:

General Effect Caption

This was one of the most straightforward caption, with 1-7 going down the line according to overall placement. The gap between Bluecoats, Boston, and the Blue Devils is fairly small, so there's lots of room for shuffling at upcoming shows.

If we zoom into the Color Guard caption, though, Boston came out on top by 0.1 points over the Blue Devils, followed by Carolina Crown in third and Bluecoats in fourth.
