Crossmen's Madison Mitchell Battles The Sun, Bass Drums, And Blood
At the Tour of Champions - NightBEAT show, Madison Mitchell showed the world how to persevere. Late in her performance with the Crossmen, Madison let go of a rifle toss knowing she would have to look directly into the sun therefore causing her to miss the catch. When the rifle hit the ground it bounced away from her feet. Instincts to recover took over and Madison reached for her rifle. Unfortunately, a large bass drum was bearing down and the two performers collided. The collision lasted just a split second and was barely noticeable. But it left Madison with a large gash on her head which lead to face being covered in blood almost instantly. Images of her bloodied face began to circulate social media immediately. Like any true marching performer, Madison quickly assessed whether she should continue performing and did so admirably. She finished the show to shouts of encouragement from her fellow guard members.
