Previewing the 5A Groups You'll See at the Ayala Music In Motion Tournament

Even though we've still got a few weeks before the Fall marching band season officially kicks off on the West Coast, excitement for the WBA season is at an all-time high. October 8th marks the start of the WBA season in earnest, with three competitions around Southern California - Ayala Music in Motion Tournament in Chino Hills, CA, Washington Union Preview of Champions in Fresno, CA, and Irish Guard Invitational in Dublin, CA.
Today, let's focus on the Ayala Music in Motion Tournament and preview the three 5A bands that will be debuting their 2022 programs in Chino Hills:
Ayala High School
- 2022 Show Title: Bridge Between Worlds
- Other WBA shows they'll be attending:
- Conquistador Classic (Nov. 5)
- Trabuco Hills Tournament in the Hills (Nov. 12)
- 4A/5A WBA Class Championships (Nov. 19)
During the fall marching season, the marching band competes in local, regional, and national competitions. In select years, the band and color guard travel to Indianapolis to compete at the Bands of America Grand National Championships alongside over 100 bands from across the country. At Grand Nationals, the BAC has consistently made semi-finalists (top 30) and has twice been a Grand National Finalist (top 12). In other years, the BAC travels to Fresno, California to compete in the Western Bands Association (WBA) Championships. They have been named Grand Champion of WBA three times.

Locally known for its rigorous drills and innovative award-winning musical performances, the Husky Regiment consists of students who perform music for its own sake, and build strength through competition as a team. The Chino Hills Husky Regiment is under the Direction of Steve Krumbine.
During the fall marching season, the marching band competes in local and regional competitions. Last year the Regiments competed in Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Championships where they won the Gold medal and high percussion award. In other years the Regiment has traveled to Fresno, California to compete in the Western Band Association (WBA) Championships.
