It's been an exciting past two weeks with all these DCI 2022 show announcements, and the Sacramento Mandarins happen to be the next corps to release details about their production for the season. Tuesday afternoon, the NorCal corps revealed their show title to be, 'THE OTHERSIDE,' and released a short teaser trailer along with their show graphic.

While the trailer doesn't tell fans any definitive information as to what the show is about, it does give a good idea of the mood and imagery we'll be seeing throughout the season from the Mandarins; dark and mysterious vibes and lots of color. The glitches that are a constant theme throughout the teaser and the show graphic make me think the show may revolve around technology or a crumbling society.

Audiences also get a taste of the show music that the Mandarins will be playing this summer, with the teaser stating the corps is featuring music "inspired from:"

• Pink Floyd
• Stranger Things (the television show)
• Avi Kaplan

The phrasing there is an interesting choice - opting to say the music is "inspired from" rather than "by," which makes me think that the tunes we'll hear this season may be heavily modulated to fit the overall show theme. Mandarins have been putting out a lot of really innovative and fun to watch shows for the last several seasons, and I'm incredibly excited to see what THE OTHERSIDE is all about once more information gets released to the public.
