Aimachi Winds Officially On The Schedule For WGI 2020
Making their return for the first time since 2016, Aimachi Winds will make the trip to Dayton for WGI World Championships in April 2020.
The last time Aimachi Winds were in Dayton, they were receiving gold medals at the 2016 WGI Wind World Championships. Per a tweet by the group's designer and renowned DCI and WGI creative, Michael Gaines, Aimachi Winds will once again take the floor in WGI competition on Saturday, April 18th, 2020 at World Championship prelims.

Aimachi is a name that has long been associated with excellence and skill. The group has recorded success in each of WGI's three divisions including multiple bronze medals and a silver for the winter guard in 2017. The winter guard kept up a consistent schedule of visiting World Championships every couple of years but made an announcement in March of 2017 that it would not be returning for the foreseeable future. Read more about that here.
In 2016, Aimachi Winds entered Dayton with a show that was nothing but impressive to a very green Winds audience. WGI Winds was just in its second year of existence, and while groups like Rhythm X Winds, FIU, Stryke, and others were leading the charge on design direction as they explored this new space, "Aimachi Band" had already been doing marching and playing indoors for quite some time. You can read more about Aimachi Winds' 2016 performance here. On the staff of the 2020 Aimachi Winds are some Drum Corps International greats including Michael Gaines, Kevin LeBoeuf, Gordon Henderson, and Jim Moore. Tune in to the 2020 WGI Winds World Championships coming LIVE to FloMarching in April!
