The BOA East Tennessee regional brings us some of the best bands from TN, NC, SC, KY, and even one band from GA to compete a little bit closer to home. Our first band, Elizabethton H.S. of Tennessee, will step-off at 7:15 am.
A Change of Scenery
In a change from the last few years, this Tennessee regional is being held in Johnson City and not in Clarksville as in years past. With two extra weeks of practice than we typically see at the Clarksville show, the shows should be better than ever.
There are few, if any, of the same groups attending this show that also attended last year's Tennessee regional, so the competition should be fun to watch and exciting to see with such a different lineup. Some of the most highly anticipated performances include those of Cleveland (NC), Marvin Ridge (NC), Ninety Six (SC), and so many more.
First Things First
While this regional is the first BOA appearance of the season for so many bands, here are just a few major highlights of what's to come from some of the region's biggest players.
Perennial BOA Grand Nationals Finalists and 2020 Rose Parade attendees, Dobyns-Bennett (TN), will be making their first BOA appearance of the 2019 season by bringing us some old favorites like Shostakovitch No. 10, Khachaturian's "Adagio (From Spartacus)", and "Dies Irae" from Verdi's Requiem.
Also making their first BOA appearance of the season, the Kennesaw Mountain (GA) band will be performing their 2019 show "Without Words" full of stunning visuals sure to take your breath away.
Cleveland (NC) has repeated success in all areas of the marching arts, including a powerful WGI Winds program with a newly acquired WGI Scholastic World Winds World Championship on their resume.
