The Bands of America Northwest Ohio Regional will host 15 bands to Toledo and seems to have attracted some outside talent this year. Although one of the smallest regionals on the BOA schedule, the event will still give fans, alumni, and judges a chance to see some great BOA Grand National Championship contenders early on in the season.

Starting off with DeWitt at 11:45 AM ET, New York and Michigan will be represented by a few bands this weekend, alongside the typical Ohio and Indiana bands that usually compete in Toledo. You can tune into finals beginning at 6:45 PM ET and catch an exhibition performance from the University of Toledo marching band after the last band around 10:30 PM ET.

Grand National Contenders

Five of the groups attending this weekend's regional will eventually be making the trek to Indianapolis for the 2019 BOA Grand Nationals on the final weekend of the season. But first, let's get through the first weekend of the season.

Homestead (IN) leads the pack of groups that will be in Toledo this weekend with their most recent accolade being an 8th place finish in Grand National Finals. The group sits in prime position to take home a Regional Championship on the first Saturday of the season.

Plymouth-Canton Education Park (MI) finished their 2018 season in 20th overall in Grand National semifinals making them another group to keep your eyes on this weekend as they present their 2019 program "Amid Surreal Nights Dreams" for the first time on FloMarching.

Norton (OH) Miamisburg (OH), and Jenison (MI) finish out the groups that will head to the Glass Bowl and also Grand National Championships in 2019. Norton's 2018 season ended with the group 3rd in their class after the end of semis competition.

Expectations remain high for Miamisburg (OH) and Jenison (MI), as both have recent experience being on the edge of Regional Finals up in Toledo.
