Preview: DCI Southeastern Championship
What's to come this weekend at the 2019 DCI Southeastern Championship, another dome-sized regional in Atlanta, GA with a very long list of corps.
With the 2019 Southwestern Championships in the books, we're looking forward to this weekend's Southeastern Championships to be the final time we see every corps in one place (on the same day, anyways) before finals. We'll be streaming live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in Atlanta, GA this Saturday, July 27th starting at 1:30 PM ET.
Here's a few match-ups to keep an eye on this weekend:

Troopers | Madison Scouts
In rounding out Texas tour on Monday night at DCI Mesquite, the Troopers pulled ahead of the Madison Scouts by just over a point, 1.05 to be exact. This is nearly a complete flip of their 0.937 point gap during the Southwestern Championships, where the Scouts came out ahead. The two corps actually tied in Music during that Monday night show, but the Troopers were clearly ahead in the other two captions. Will the Troopers pull ahead and widen the gap, or will the Scouts show up this weekend and flip the tides again? The Troopers take the field starting at 3:39 PM and the Madison Scouts just a bit later at 4:13 PM.
Cadets | Mandarins
The Mandarins narrowed their point gap with the Cadets by half on Monday night at Drums Across Cajun Field, down to a 0.7 point gap. The Mandarins did best the Cadets in both GE and Visual captions, while the Cadets took all music captions by enough to beat the Mandarins overall. Can the Mandarins maintain their momentum and move another spot forward? They don't get the benefit of going head to head against each other this time around; you can catch the Mandarins starting at 6:15 PM and the Cadets later on at 7:56 PM.
Bluecoats | Blue Devils | Santa Clara Vanguard
The Bluecoats earned first again on Monday at DCI Mesquite, continuing their undefeated season. The gap between the Bluecoats and Blue Devils even widened from 0.2 up to 0.423. While that's not a huge difference in points, it is still double what it was before. But let's not forget, the Santa Clara Vanguard opened the season with a great showing, beating the Blue Devils at their first four shows together. Will they make it happen again in these next few weeks? Catch the top 3 this Saturday night starting with the Blue Devils at 9:04 PM.
