Oregon Crusaders Will Not Field Corps In 2019
Oregon Crusaders announced today that they will not be fielding a corps along the Drum Corps International summer tour in 2019.
The front page of Oregon Crusaders' website is completely bare aside from three sentences:
"Today ends an incredible journey for the Oregon Crusaders, at least for now. Founded in the 1970s, restarted in 2000, and then again in 2007, we announce to you today that we will not be fielding a corps in 2019. It has been a great privilege to serve the over 1000 performers and staff since our restart in 2007. For the memories we have shared, we say Hallelujah."
Drum Corps International put out their own statement as well with little more to offer, "today the Oregon Crusaders informed Drum Corps International that the organization will not be a part of the upcoming competitive season."
"DCI supports this decision by the Oregon Crusaders to take the time necessary to refocus its efforts to serve its members on the path forward," it finished.
The announcement that the corps will not compete in 2019 was made only 8 days after the corps put out a call for a few job opportunities in the corps administrative team.
We will keep an eye on this and update the article if more information comes out.
