Austin Braces For Massive BOA Regional
The BOA season heats up with the 2018 BOA Austin Regional in Roud Rock.
On Saturday, Bands of America will be taking over the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in North Austin for the 2018 BOA Austin Regional and this may be one of the hottest regionals of the season.
The 2018 South Texas regional champion Claudia Taylor Johnson will return to Austin with the opportunity to make it back-to-back wins to start the season. And, CTJ was the 2017 Austin Regional Champions, giving them the opportunity to repeat as well.
But, the Austin regional will host several bands that have won either multiple BOA contests or multiple Texas state championships in addition to CTJ including Cedar Park, Cedar Ridge, James Bowie, Leander, Round Rock, Vandegrift, and Winston Churchill.
Not to mention programs like Lake Travis, Pflugerville, Hendrickson, Rouse, Vista Ridge, and Westwood who will also be in attendance.
The Austin Regional will be the benchmark for a wild season in Texas for BOA this fall. As a matter of fact, 20 of the 24 bands performing in Austin this weekend will be at the massive 2018 San Antonio Super Regional in November.
Cedar Park will be debuting their 2018 show after winning the 2017 Texas 5A state marching championship. It is Cedar Park’s 3rd state title since 2011. At the Austin Regional last year, Cedar Park finished 5th overall.

Be on the lookout for James Bowie this fall. Bowie has already had a long history of success on the BOA field and during the WGI season. Over the summer, Bowie hired Garth Gunderson from cross-town Hendrickson. Will Bowie take a leap forward be a dark-horse to win this weekend?
