Tight Race For Finals En Route To BOA Tennessee
With nine finalists returning from the 2017 BOA Tennessee regional, it's going to be a battle for the last spot in finals this year.
As far as making finals is concerned, it doesn't get much more difficult than the 2018 BOA Tennessee Regional.
With 9 returning finalist bands vying for 10 spots, plus a few groups with impressive resumés that didn't even attend in 2017 will make this regional a toss-up.
The Logistics
The show will start at 9:15 AM CT with F. J. Reitz (IN). A little later on, we'll see Russell County (KY) who we saw last weekend at Miami University in the BOA Oxford Regional.
The group made regional finals after sweeping AA class and ended up with a 73.80 and 5th place, a pretty good showing for the early season.
Camdenton (MO) performs at 11:00 AM CT in prelims. Camdenton (MO) is one group everyone will have their eyes on this season—especially because they are going to the San Antonio Super Regional AND the 2018 BOA Grand National Championships one week later.
After the lunch break, make sure to catch North Hardin (KY) as they chase after another bronze medal, to match their 2017 finish. It will be a tough race however with Castle (IN), O'Fallon Township (IL), Mill Creek (GA), and Franklin (TN) taking the field in the final block of prelims.
Prelims will finish with class excellence awards and the top three from each class will be recognized. Finally, the top ten finalists will be revealed in random order and the directors will randomly draw their performance time.
Finals will return with the first finalist performing at 7:45 PM CT.
The Race For Finals
With nine finalists returning from the 2017 regional, it's going to be a battle for the last spot in finals this year. Not only that, but some new names are coming in to join the Tennessee Regional finalists in 2018.
All eyes are on Camdenton (MO) and O'Fallon Township (IL) heading into this weekend's regional. The two groups have a decent chance of grabbing a medal given their programs' recent success.
With their packed 2018 competition schedule, Camdenton will be looking to set the bar high out of the gates. Since they'll be going up against some pretty talented Texas bands in San Antonio in November, they'll have to be able to hold their own on Saturday.
