Things will be starting off strong in the Midwest in Oxford, OH on September 22, featuring bands from all over the OH, KY, and IN areas; and from the looks of it already, 2018 will be a season filled with unique show design. Here are some groups you will NOT want to miss during Saturday's event regional championship!

10:15 AM ET - Centerville (OH)

Taking it back to their original jazz roots, Centerville (OH) will be taking the field with their 2018 production “That’s How We Roll.”

Their show uses music from Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, and features large reinforced plastic tubes that roll around on the field for members to crawl through and over. Centerville is known for their groovy and impressive shows, so it will be interesting to see how their use of on-field props will play out for fans AND judges this year.

10:45 AM ET - South Oldham (KY)

Just in time for fall weather, South Oldham (KY) is set to bring some spooky vibes to the field all the way from Crestwood, KY, with their production “All Hallows Eve.”

Featuring standards such as “Night on Bald Mountain,” “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Moonlight Sonata”, and using bat-shaped kites on a field made to resemble a graveyard, South Oldham is sure to give fans chills and thrills with this show.

This will also be South Oldham's first ever performance at a BOA show, so you won’t want to miss their debut!

2:00 PM ET - Franklin Central (IN)

Franklin Central (IN) is set to debut their thought-provoking show “The Pretenders” this weekend at 2:00 PM ET, which centers around imitating others in order to find one’s own identity.

Using impressionist art as inspiration, the concept is displayed on the field through members who wear masks over part of their face. It is also done with props that are covered in a “paint-by-numbers” style that are slowly torn away throughout the show revealing the true art underneath.

2:15 PM ET - Beavercreek (OH)

Beavercreek (OH) is set to make their first BOA appearance in almost three decades this weekend with their production “Mirrorball.”

Set to music from "Earth, Wind and Fire", Van McCoy, Peter Gabriel, Zedd, and Bruno Mars, “Mirrorball” follows the evolution of pop/dance music. The show features several soloists, during one of which brass members use their instruments to create an actual "mirrorball" on the field.

This marks one of the first times the group will be using music from more than one artist, in an attempt to dazzle the audience both musically and visually.
