Mile-High Scores Headed To Drums Along The Rockies
Mile-High Scores Headed To Drums Along The Rockies
While a number of corps head to St. Louis for the first big regional of the summer, corps from out West head to Mile High Stadium!
Although many corps will be in the Midwest this weekend in preparation for the brand-new 2018 DCI Midwestern Championship show in St. Louis, a number of the corps stayed out West and will be arriving in Denver for an action-filled Saturday!
The national anthem and welcome ceremony start off the night promptly at 6:30 PM MT, then lead straight into a few debut performances for corps LIVE on FloMarching!
It's so great to see all of our hard work coming to life on tour! We couldn't have asked for a better kick off at Sanpete Beat! You guys were obviously good luck! #packedhouse pic.twitter.com/UBfH33rBOl

7 PM MT - The Battalion
The Battalion makes its 2018 debut on FloMarching this Saturday with its program "Seeing Red" at 7 PM MT in Denver. The corps' shortened tour includes only 11 scored performances, with just the one at Drums Along The Rockies to be streamed on FloMarching!
I repeat: this is your only chance to watch The Battalion this season on FloMarching! This group will surprise you with its numbers, talent, and enthusiasm as it performs on one of the largest stages in the country!
8:45 PM MT - The Academy
Having shown consistent improvement so far from show to show this season, The Academy is a must-see corps performing in Denver. The corps' 2018 program opens with an incredible company front with neverending sustains. Throughout The Academy's show, you're reminded of middle school math class with a heavy dose of brass to a satisfying closing form in the shape of its "A."
Having scored a 76.500 in Ogden, the corps is on track to be right on the edge of finals with groups like Colts, Mandarins, Madison Scouts, and Spirit of Atlanta.
9:02 PM MT - Santa Clara Vanguard
You know why. Santa Clara Vanguard has much of the DCI community wrapped around its finger since its monumental success last season. Vanguard has been a corps that's easy to fall in love with for decades now, but 2017 and 2018 have featured a brand-new fire in the SCV furnace.
We saw SCV at DCI West and Drum Corps At The Rose Bowl and beat Blue Devils at both. Vanguard's show "Babylon" made massive improvements and even substantial additions between the events. Now that it's been a few weeks since we've last seen the group, we can expect a more refined product with hopefully some new additions in the effect department.
Hoping to visit an SCV rehearsal when we come through your area? Check out all our currently available housing & rehearsal information at https://t.co/PU3zdsaMIX! Schedules and housing sites are updated every few days. #SCV2018 pic.twitter.com/9x5EKoGQAi
