2018 WGI Percussion/Winds Mid-East Power Regional — Highland Heights, KY
This may be one of the most intense weekends for percussion that we've seen yet. 37 ensembles in competition and they are all HUGE names. The Mid-East Power Regional revisits the tension between Rhythm X and Music City Mystique — MCM was the reigning champion coming in from World Championships, and in the Dayton Regional earlier this season, Rhythm X unseated MCM with a 83.9 to their 82.35. The crowd reaction said it all. We'll see United, Equinox, Cap City, and Gateway also all come into this space. Independent Open is also gonna be chock-full of talent: ConneXus, Freedom Percussion, INov8, Motor City, and Tates Creek Indoor are all making an appearance. If you're into drums, this is not an event to pass up.
2018 WGI Percussion/Winds West Power Regional — San Bernardino, CA & Grand Terrace, CA
You know what they say about West Coast drums. This lineup is tight, across both Scholastic and Independent. 78 ensembles will be performing, with mini-rivalries across classes: Arcadia, Ayala, Chino Hills, and Etiwanda will be duking it out in World Class; Broken City, POW, Pulse and RCC are here to fight in Independent World. Like we said: it's gonna be brutal.
