Windsday: East And South Winds Power Regionals Give Winds Fans Early Look
Get ready for your first full dose of WGI Winds coming up in next weekend's Power Regionals!
March is finally here, and that means it's WGI Power Regional season! In its fourth year of existence, the Winds division is ushering in more groups than ever to the 2018 WGI World Championships at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio.
For most WGI Winds groups, next weekend's East Power Regional in Toms River, New Jersey, and South Power Regional in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, will be the first time to see their 2018 productions before they head to the WGI World Championships in April. For one group, however, the South Power Regional will be the only time you can see it in 2018.

March 17-18: South Power Regional | March 17-18: East Power Regional
All other groups that perform in either Power Regional will advance to become 2018 WGI Power Regional finalists, which means two opportunities to see what they're bringing to the stage.
St. Charles Parish Does One And Done
St. Charles Parish Winds ensemble, a group from Destrehan, Louisiana, is entering the Winds division scene at the South Power Regional in preliminary competition on Saturday, March 17. The ensemble is under the direction of Sharie Mahler, the assistant band director of the Destrehan High School band program.
St. Charles Parish will lead off the Winds preliminary competition at 10 AM CT/11AM ET, sharp. Check out the schedule on Saturday afternoon following prelims to find their finals performance time.
East Power Regional Brings In Local Champion
Headlining the event in the Winds division at the East Power Regional, InMotion Wind Performance Company (NJ) will take the floor bright and early at 10 AM CT/11 AM ET.
At last year's East Regional in Toms River, InMotion Wind Performance Company earned first in Winds Independent A before the group claimed the Tournament of Bands "2017 TIA Atlantic Coast Championship" in May.
The group will make the trip to Dayton this April to perform in the WGI Winds World Championships for the first time.
Running The Gamut
Whether you watch InMotion Performance Ensemble or St. Charles Parish on Saturday morning, make sure to tune into the South Power Regional until about 11 AM CT/12 PM ET to catch all of the Winds groups in preliminary competition that will also be heading to Dayton for the World Championships.
Scholastic A Winds holds Gulfport (MS), Kosciusko (MS), and Lake Hamilton (AR) will follow St. Charles. Immediately after you can catch Evidence from William Carey University and then finally Oxford (MS) in Scholastic Open competition.
