BOA Houston Regional Coming In Hot
Let's take a closer look at some of the bands that will be performing at the 2017 Bands of America Houston Regional on Oct. 7.
Heading into the fourth week of the 2017 BOA season, the Houston Regional is ready to fire up an unbelievable lineup on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah, Texas.
Featuring several finalists from the Austin Regional two weeks ago, including Winston Churchill, Leander, Vandegrift, Hendrickson, James Bowie, and Round Rock and Class A champion Weiss, the Houston Regional also adds some familiar faces to the mix. Ronald Reagan, The Woodlands, Seven Lakes, and The Woodlands College Park will all make their 2017 BOA debuts this weekend.
Ronald Reagan
The Reagan band is a consistent BOA Regional, Super Regional, and Grand National finalist. In addition to last year's seventh-place finish at nationals, Ronald Reagan have been named champions of the BOA Conroe Regional the previous two years. The band was also selected to march in the 2018 Tournament of Roses Parade. Making their FloMarching debut for 2018, Reagan will be performing their production entitled "Us And Them." The show will feature music from Radiohead, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Guillermo Lago, Pink Floyd, Drew Shanefield, Ray Ulibarri, and Aaron Guidry.

Clear Brook
Clear Brook are one of Houston's finest: two-time Atlanta Super Regional finalists, San Antonio Super Regional finalists, and Houston Regional finalists. Clear Brook have also made it to the semifinals of BOA Grand Nationals. Clear Brook will be performing their show called "Dracula," which features music from Stephen Sondheim, Danny Elfman, Michel Legrand, Aaron Copland, and Bryan Harmsen.
The Woodlands
The Woodlands were the BOA Grand National champions in 2013 and have remained consistent UIL Texas State Marching Contest finalists. Along with receiving UIL Superior ratings annually for their concert band program, The Woodlands finished third at the 2016 Houston Regional and second at the San Antonio Super Regional. Their 2017 productions is entitled "In the Garden of Cosmic Speculation."
