The Cadets And Carolina Crown To Reveal Changes This Weekend
Directly following last weekend's DCI Southwest Championship, many corps used the next few rehearsal days to make changes and add new elements to their shows ahead of the Southeastern Championship and NightBEAT.
Directly following last weekend's DCI Southwest Championship, many corps used the next few rehearsal days to make changes and add new elements to their shows. For some, that meant closed rehearsals and increased suspense for the fans until the corps arrive in Powder Springs, GA, for the Southeastern Championship on Saturday or Winston-Salem, NC, for NightBEAT on Saturday -- which are both streaming LIVE on FloMarching.
On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Carolina Crown closed their rehearsals to the public in order to make "some exciting additions." With how far they've taken their show concept of field deconstruction, I think we're in for a serious treat this weekend.
The corps reopened their rehearsals today, so if you're in the Nashville, TN, area, go check out Carolina Crown at Hillwood High School to get a jump on the action! Carolina Crown will be performing on Saturday night at the 2017 DCI Southeastern Championship, taking the field last at 10:28 EDT (9:28 CDT). If you want to watch them rehearse on Saturday before the regional, you can visit them at Kell High School in Marietta, GA.
The Cadets have been making more changes to their ending, which we got a first look at during Tour of Champions - Northern Illinois on July 15. Executive director George Hopkins recently shared updates on The Cadets via Facebook Live and also spoke about the additions they'd worked on over the last few days. In a previous post, he also mentioned a need for a number of people who can sew -- perhaps a uniform adjustment is on the way? Be sure to keep an eye out for more videos to get the most up-to-date information on The Cadets' 2017 show. Check out the video below from this morning before the corps heads to Nashville for tonight's show at The Masters of the Summer Music Games.
Tune in LIVE on Saturday AND Sunday to watch the newest developments and additions throughout the activity. Carolina Crown performs at 10:28 PM (EDT) at the DCI Southeastern Championship and 9:45 PM (EDT) at Tour of Champions - NightBEAT. The Cadets perform at 8:40 PM (EDT) and 9:11 PM (EDT), respectively, at each event. It's about to be an exciting weekend of drum corps!
