The 2017 Drum Corps International Tour has officially begun, and one of the biggest shows of the early season is here! DCI West at Stanford University is a favorite for many members and fans due to the massive stadium, beautiful scenery, and temperate weather of Northern California in June. Once again, the forecast for Sunday's show is promising a beautiful weekend in Stanford. Let's take a look at what a few of the corps were up to this week.

The Blue Devils A, B, and C corps...

After finishing out their spring training with the annual family day, all of the Concord corps will get to show off their 2017 productions in a large stadium environment. The Blue Devils B corps is coming off of their fifth Open Class World Championship and is ready to unleash "The World the Children Made." Check out its Inside BD360: Preseason Report below.

Santa Clara Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets...

The Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets were preparing their show, "In Pieces," in the intense California heat throughout the week. I'm sure they'll welcome the beautiful Stanford weather, forecasted to be nearly 25 degrees cooler than the highs they were seeing in Denair, CA. Santa Clara Vanguard are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year with their show "Ouroboros." From the 2017 show description on their website, Vanguard Music and Performing Arts Creative Director Michael Gaines says, "The program this year will be different than recent offerings from Vanguard, while maintaining that connection with the audience, which is a hallmark of SCV."

Sacramento Mandarins...

This week, the Mandarins are debuting their new, sleek uniforms at the 2017 MidCal Champions Showcase, and I'm sure the fans are ready to see their 2017 show, "Inside the Ink." Their new uniforms were announced on the corps' Instagram account, so give the Mandarins a follow to stay up-to-date with the corps as it begins touring and traveling the country.
