We are a week away from the first of Bands of America's Super Regionals, and we have a full three contests lined up for Saturday, October 15, including the Bands of America Winston-Salem Regional, presented by Yamaha. Be sure to also check out the regionals in Newark and Hillsboro

Morning Block 1

(All times are EST)
Union Pines H.S. - 8 AM
Recent awards for the Marching Vikings include superior ratings in all competitions for 15 straight years. Union Pines has been the grand champion band numerous times at the Lee County Brick Capital Classic, the Triton Havoc in Hawks Nest, the Pinecrest Band Fest, the Southview Rumble in the Jungle, and the Hoke County and Albemarle Marching Band Competitions. The Marching Vikings have also represented the state of North Carolina in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C.

Mill Creek H.S. - 9 AM
The Pride of Mill Creek marching band is a five-time Bands of America Regional and Super Regional finalist and a two-time BOA Regional Class AAAA champion. The Mill Creek wind ensemble will perform at this year's Georgia Music Educators Association Conference and at the Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Band Festival at Georgia State University.


Morning Block 2

Cary Senior H.S. - 10:15 AM
The Cary band is proud of its all-around program, including marching band, symphonic band, concert band, jazz ensemble, winter drumline, and winterguard.  The marching band is a regular Bands of America Regional finalist as well as a national semifinalist in 2012 and 2014. The indoor percussion was a WGI regional champion in 2016 and both the guard and drumline were WGI national semifinalists. This year, the band will represent the town of Cary and North Carolina at the 90th Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City.

White Knoll H.S. - 11:30 AM
The White Knoll High School marching band is a consistent South Carolina AAAA state marching band finalist and is the 2010 and 2011 AAAA state marching band champion. The White Knoll band consistently receives superior ratings at all South Carolina Band Directors Association sanctioned events. White Knoll is a 2012 BOA Atlanta Regional finalist and a 2014 BOA Winston-Salem Regional finalist 


Afternoon Block 1

Fort Mill H.S. - 12:30 PM
The Fort Mill High School band has won 24 South Carolina state marching band championships since 1976. The band has earned nine class championships at BOA Regionals and two regional championships. Fort Mill has represented South Carolina in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. The band has honored U.S. veterans with three performances at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and a 2016 concert at the Normandy American Cemetery in France.

Panther Creek H.S. - 1 PM
Panther Creek High School has four concert bands. The wind ensemble just performed for the North Carolina Bandmasters Association Conference. This is Panther Creek's 10th-year anniversary marching season.


Afternoon Block 2

Nation Ford H.S. - 4:15 PM
Nation Ford High School opened in the fall of 2007 and has won five South Carolina state marching band championships. In November 2011, the band performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and will return to the parade in November 2017. In 2012, the band placed third in Class AA at the BOA Grand National Championships in Indianapolis. The band has earned the SCBDA Outstanding Performance award every year and multiple citations of excellence from the National Band Association. 

Dobyns-Bennett H.S. - 4:30 PM (Time Changed Due to Band Withdrawal)
The Dobyns-Bennett band has a tradition of excellence going back more than 85 years. Dobyns-Bennett has appeared in three Tournament of Roses Parades, five Macy's Parades, and the Presidential Inaugural Parade. The band has been a BOA Regional Champion four times and a grand nationals semifinalist every time they have attended. The symphonic band has played at the prestigious Midwest Clinic twice. Dobyns-Bennett is one of only 15 schools nationally to have been awarded both the Sudler Flag and Sudler Shield by the JP Sousa Foundation.
