The 2025 WGI season is full steam ahead. Here are the takeaways you need to know after week three of competition, Feb 22-23

Dozens of Guard, Percussion, and Winds ensembles competed this past weekend, February 22-23, in one of the first big competition weekends of the 2025 WGI season. Though we're only three weeks in, the 2025 Winter Guard International schedule is packed with dozens of competitions over the span of two and a half months, with exciting performance opportunities across the United States.

Winter Guard, Percussion, and Winds fans can watch select shows LIVE, exclusively on FloMarching, throughout the season all leading up to the 2025 WGI Color Guard World Championships on April 3-5 and the 2025 Percussion/Winds World Championships on April 10-13.

Guess Who's Back | Indianapolis Guard Regional
Pride of Cincinnati made a splash at its first WGI-hosted regional, proving that despite a year off from competition, it is an ensemble to watch out for in the Independent World class. Taking a look at Scholastic World, Warren Central HS took home a sneaky victory in Finals after finishing Prelims in second place behind Carmel HS. Phoenix Independent (IO), Noblesville HS (SO), and Homage Independent (IA) took home decisive victories in its respective classes, while Larry A Ryle HS in Scholastic A scraped out a first place Finals finish over Carroll HS (IN).

SEEing Clearly | Temecula Percussion/Winds Regional
West Coast Percussion fans were treated to a sizzling slate of percussion competition this weekend, resulting in some massive scores with slim margins. One of the most dramatic finishes of the weekend was in the Independent Marching World Class, with RCC sliding into a first-place Finals victory over Pulse Percussion by less than 0.3 points. Oh, and did we mention that both ensembles almost crossed the threshold into the 90s Club... in week three of competition? Wild. Not to be outdone, Chino Hills HS finished with a massive score, also nipping at the heels of the 90s Club with a Finals score of 87.275. Basha HS also secured a dub in Scholastic Marching Open, with more than a point separating second-place finisher Rancho Cucamonga HS.

Infinity x 3 | Orlando Percussion/Winds Regional
Infinity Percussion's three ensembles had a massive weekend, taking home Gold and Silver in Independent Marching World and Gold in Independent Marching Open. Hialeah Gardens HS secured a victory in Scholastic Marching Open alongside River Ridge HS in Scholastic Marching A.
Zooming in on the Winds competition, it was all STRYKE Wynds in Independent World Winds, with a massive win over fellow Florida ensembles Horizon Winds and Legacy.
