BREAKING: Jersey Surf Withdraws from 2025 DCI Summer Tour
On November 4th, Jersey Surf announced it has withdrawn from the 2025 DCI summer tour
On November 4th, Drum Corps International World Class ensemble Jersey Surf announced it has withdrawn from the 2025 DCI Summer tour. In a press release posted on the Jersey Surf website and across social media, the New Jersey-based ensemble cited its focus on "accessible programming and fundraising" as a motivating factor behind the move.
This upcoming summer marks Jersey Surf's 35th anniversary season.
In their own words,
"As Jersey Surf approaches its 35th anniversary in 2025, the organization recognizes the need to adapt its offerings to reach a wider audience. By reallocating resources toward initiatives that enhance accessibility and fiscal responsibility, Jersey Surf aims to fulfill its mission more effectively and provide enriching musical experiences to an even larger constituency."

While fans may not be seeing Jersey Surf on the competitive field this upcoming summer, don't fret - you can still celebrate with Surf through various initiatives they're bringing out this summer, including Drum Jawn and Music Jawn. The event aims to bring together "drummers and would-be drummers of all ages and experience levels" in a free event "designed to promote the positive attributes of music-making."

Jersey Surf's 2024 program was titled, 'Surfadelic' and featured music from Earth, Wind, and Fire, Tower of Power, and Barry White. The ensemble placed 24th at the 2024 DCI World Championships.
