Threads of Power in Central Texas
A host of Texas ensembles converged in San Marcos on Saturday for the BOA Central Texas Regional, with Dripping Springs HS finding itself atop the table after the day's competition by more than a full point and a half. Second Place James Bowie HS also found itself with a healthy gap between itself and third-place McNeil HS.
Additionally, Dripping Springs HS took home the awards for the Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding General Effect captions, while James Bowie HS nabbed the Outstanding Visual Performance caption award.

Texas Strong in Odessa
Lone Star State ensembles showed out in West Texas this past weekend, where Denton-based Braswell HS soared through Prelims and Finals, earning first-place finishes each time. Richland HS squeaked by into second place over Permian HS, which rounded out the top three.
While Braswell may have led the pack in overall score, Permian HS took home two of the three Caption Awards; Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding Visual Performance. Braswell did, however, take home the Caption Award for Outstanding General Effect.

The Woodlands Steps Out in Shenandoah
More BOA action headed to North Houston, where fans were treated to a plethora of excellence from over twenty ensembles. North Texas fan favorite, The Woodlands HS, snagged a first-place finish, overpowering Houston-based Cy-Fair HS. College Park HS found itself in third place at the end of Finals competition, with a healthy gap between itself and Stephen F Austin HS, which claimed fourth place.
The Woodlands also claimed every Caption Award (Outstanding Music Performance, Visual Performance, and General Effect), further securing its decisive victory in both Prelims and Finals.

A Diverse Top-12 In Des Moines
Seven total states were represented at Finals at the 2024 BOA Iowa Regional, making up one of the most diverse groupings of ensembles fans have seen so far this BOA season. Minnesota, however, was the golden state this weekend, with Rosemount HS claiming the top slot after Finals competition. South Dakota's own Lincoln HS slid into second place, following Rosemount by less than half a point, while Nebraska and Bellevue West HS took home third place.
When looking at the Caption Awards, Rosemount HS claimed Outstanding Visual Performance as well as Outstanding General Effect, while Lincoln HS took home the award for Outstanding Music Performance.
