The 2024 Bands of America season officially kicked off this weekend, September 14th, with its first show of the year.

The 2024 Northwest Ohio Regional was held this past Saturday, September 14th, in Toledo, OH and featured a lineup of top high school competitors from across six different states. The seventeen competitors met up for Prelims and Finals competition at Glass Bowl Stadium at the University of Toledo, treating fans to an exciting start to the 2024 BOA season.
Razor-Thin Margins in Toledo
It was a battle for top placement between Homestead HS (IN) and Jenison HS (MI), with Homestead eventually taking home the gold, though not without a fight. After Prelims, Homestead HS was sitting in first place with a score of 78.550, with Jenison HS in second with a score of 77.250. While the placements for the two ensembles stayed the same after Finals, Jenison HS closed that margin to a staggering 0.100 points, with Homestead HS earning a 77.300 in Finals, and Jenison HS with a 77.200. Rockford HS (MI) took home the bronze placement with a score of 75.650, rounding out the top three.

While Homestead HS took home first overall, Jenison HS managed to come away with massive wins in the Caption Awards race, claiming the Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding General Effect awards. Homestead HS nabbed the award for Outstanding Visual Performance.
